Making Friends + Julie and Julia

Last night I went with some new friends (Carol, Hillary, and Jeff), and one old friend (Jared Clark), to see Julie and Julia. It was an absolute delight. I needed a good laugh and recommend this movie to everyone. I enjoyed both story lines very much, but of course Meryl Streep's version of Julia Child was incredible. _____bon appétit__________

I have been making some friends through a wonderful woman named Carol that Damien was friends with and kindly introduced me to. She is a gem of a gem. She threw a party for her friend Hillary a few nights ago. It was beautiful. She lives in a high rise downtown and the view from the terrace was extraordinary. I met some people to help me make movies and I'm meeting with one of them today to try and shoot a short before school officially starts.

My apartment is now in order. My furniture arrived last Saturday and I've spent the last few days making the place cozy. Hopefully I'll get some pictures taken soon and post them.

Right now I am enjoying the weather. It has been rainy and cool the last few days, which is brilliant since I do not have air conditioning. I love to have the windows open, although problems arise when I'm watching a movie on my computer and my neighbors- the firemen- need to assist someone. It really is quite loud with the windows open. The breeze generally blows in my direction which is awesome temperature wise, but not so often if someone is smoking across the street, which someone usually is. That being said, I'm a little excited for Fall, when I can shut my window. But I'm incredibly thankful for a mild summer. I hate the humidity.

Today I am meeting a new friend for lunch, a little ramen shop at Union Square, to talk about our movie ideas.

I have been redrafting my script. Ugh. What a pain. But so necessary. It's so fun to think of it. Not so fun to remember the i before e's. Unless your a copy editor. And I am related to quite a few people who probably would enjoy that...

I LOVE to have the windows open but living by a smoker is so annoying.

You're good at making new friends...you should give tips on it.
