The Alligators by Natalie Neal.

Highlights of Sasquatch!
I left Utah last Friday night and got on a plane to Portland to visit my friend/roommate Ashley and go to the Sasquatch Music Festival that is held out by the 'Gorge' in W. Washington. Unfortunately on the plane ride over I could feel the recycled air feeding the germs into my system, and by the time I was there I felt fully infected with some sort of cold/flu. I was pretty sick the whole time I was at Sasquatch and the duration of my stay with Ashley. Even now as I lay in bed and type this a rapid fire of sneezes will come on. Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun and saw a lot of good acts. I didn't have my camera on Saturday;;; Here are some pics from Sunday, etc.
A super-zoom will show you Tegan and Sara on stage.

REM headlined the first night. I didn't really like their music before but Michael Stipe is intriguing to watch.

M.I.A. was my favorite performance of the first day. Particularly this song:
Ashley, Seth (her little brother), and I slept in this tent. Her dad and older brother slept in the vehicle. Apparently the tarp under the tent was the wrong way. When it rained that night our bottoms were soaked! I was so sick and worn out from the day that I couldn't really do anything about it when I woke up. The only thing I really remember is Ashley becoming irate about it and yelling at her dad. I think he just laughed at her. Really funny in retrospect.

Cold War Kids on the Main Stage.

David Bazin of Pedro the Lion. My Favorite!

My Family's Old Stomping Grounds:

I have a bunch of pictures of myself, Ashley, her family and friends, etc. but for some reason my computer and camera card are clashing. So, I just took the ones Ashley uploaded from my camera.
We ended up selling our Day 3 tickets since I was sick and Ashley's dad also got the shingles! We ended up missing The Cure, Flight of the Conchords, and a few other shows, but I don't think I would have been conscious enough to really enjoy them.
So that left three days to just hang out in Vancouver, Washington. Ashley's house very comfortable with a home theatre. We watched TV and movies when I wasn't feeling good. One of the days we went shopping in Portland. I didn't really buy anything though. It takes a lot for me to commit to new clothes unless they are on sale. Accessories are even worse. I ended up buying a postcard, lunch, and a 8 dollar plain grey T-shirt.
Bret picked me up from the airport last night... I got in around 9:30. When I got home band practice was almost over. Russell goes on vacation tomorrow-- it seemed like summer would give us more time to practice but everyone's vacation schedules overlap! We go on a five day tour in about two weeks-- time to write some new songs and practice.

Looks like you had fun. I feel the same way about REM - never been a huge fan, but philosophically I like them and Michael Stipe is intriguing. Plus, I think he is a really smart producer (Being John Malkovich, Saved!). Ryan and I just watched "13 Conversations About One Thing" last week which he produced. It was pretty good.
this made me feel like soooo jealous
